Membership Levels
You may become a Member of CCAA at three levels:
Associates consist of students, counsellors building experience and pastoral workers. Associates are not registered members of CCAA as they have not yet met accepted industry requirements.
Graduate Members have a Bachelor degree or equivalent in counselling over 3 years, or a Postgraduate qualification in counselling over 2 years. They have completed 50 hours of training supervision related to 200 hours of counselling internship, and meet annual requirements of professional development and accountability.
Clinical Members have, in addition, successfully completed 75 hours of supervision related to 750 hours of counselling.

- If counselling, undertake regular supervision
Graduate Members

- A Bachelor Degree, or equivalent, over 3 years OR a Postgraduate qualification, over 2 years
- 50 hours of Training Supervision relating to 200 hours of counselling internship or Client Contact
Clinical Members
- All the above, plus 75 hours of supervision relating to 750 hours of counselling
Annual Renewal - Graduate & Clinical Members
- 10 hours of supervision
- 100 hours of counselling
- 15 PD points
- Supervisor sign off
- Professional Indemnity Insurance
RPL - Recognition of Prior Learning
CCAA recognises that some counsellors have acquired their competency through a variety of means. If you wish to apply to be a Member through recognition of prior learning, it is your task to submit a portfolio demonstrating equivalent counselling competence. Applicants must meet the criteria and a substantive proportion of the formal requirements of CCAA.
