  • Download Registration Form - RSVP date is 11 February
  • 9am Saturday 18 February
  • Topic: Counselling with Men, from a Man's Perspective: Sexual Behaviours and Addictions
    • Working with men in counselling has its own unique challenges and opportunities. Working with men who have been involved in damaging sexual behaviours and addictions can be even more challenging. Men are often reluctant to be involved in counselling and then to deal with things like pornography use or affairs or with other behaviours that often have a great wall of secrecy around them can feel doubly shameful. This workshop will provide understandings of men in their relational and sexual desires, appetites and behaviours, as well as helpful ideas in counselling with men in general, and specifically in the area of their sexual behaviour.
  • Presenter: David Michie
    • David Michie Director of Journeylines Counselling & Training Services. David has 28 years of social work, counselling, training and supervision experience with 6 years - DCP. He has been in private practice for 20 years which has included lecturing in counselling, spiritual formation and development work in Indigenous communities.
    • David says he enjoys: "Being married, being with my family, sitting with people, reading and anything to do with being in, on or under water. Recreational highlights – sailing from Adelaide to Esperance, diving with sharks, a week in Kruger national park with my son discovering that nature is not benign."
